TECSight Insight: Integrated Solutions Manager, Hamish Ross, gives an update on what’s been happening in the Precision Ag world.

The last three months has been busy as usual for our TECSight, PA and TFS teams. As harvest wrapped up, summer spraying started and we look towards seeding, it’s been all stations go. We’ve held Ops Center and T3rra Cutta clinics across NSW, with upcoming Cotton clinics that have proven valuable for both customers and us. We’ve also seen the introduction of new technology features and updates which have been very exciting.

Harvest Overview

As harvest concluded, we were able to collate some really valuable data on the harvest automation features on the new X9’s and S7’s. After holding demo days at Oaklands Footy Club and at a Coleambally demo farm, we were able to test features like predictive ground speed and machine synch which showed some amazing results and just how valuable this new technology is which customers were very impressed with.  As a result, we’ve had a great number of X9 1100’s and S790’s ordered for this year’s harvest.

Our partnership with CSU was instrumental in providing excellent harvest data. By supplying equipment to their crops, our staff could experience the equipment in action and trial these new features. The data demonstrated the promise of automation in optimizing harvest results and proved the feasibility of large-scale trials.

We look forward to seeing a lot more of these machines in action for the 2025 harvest and seeing what results our customers can achieve with their performance.

Busy all round:

Our small but mighty TECSight team have pulled together over the past three months to keep customers up and running and have handled 7,314 calls. We’ve also has the TECSight team leaving the desk and getting out and about more often to expand their skillset and extend their knowledge. The Precision Ag team have also been busy, out on farms doing digital optimisations and running boundary mapping for customers. Our TECSight Field Specialists (TFS) have also been busy on the ground and were able to get all newly delivered harvesters optimised. Looking forward, the team are preparing lots of machines for seeding with many bars and carts to be delivered and optimised.

Clinics:

During February and going into March, our PA team have been running several T3RRA Cutta clinics which have been well attended and highly valuable for customers. These free training sessions have been great for people who have the equipment to sharpen their axe, as well as provide insight for people considering getting equipment and we are looking to make these training days more regular. The TFS also worked hard to bring our customers several Cotton Clinics across NSW where they went through the new features and maintenance tips.

New Year New Tech:

2025 has seen some great new technology introductions which are set to improve farming operations. Firstly, the latest display software was released, 25.1, which saw the display screen introduce a satellite map view as well as the ability to zoom in and out with new movement controls. Another great one which we began to trial over harvest is the Harvest Logistics Grain Harvest Weight Sharing, which uses scales in grain carts to share the weight totals with all G4 and G5 harvest work group and ease the flow of harvest operations. Farmer’s that used this over harvest were really impressed and found it highly valuable.

We’ve also seen new features in See and Spray with broadleaf weed pressure being able to split out the difference between broadleaf and grasses, improving the accuracy and efficiency for farmers during spraying.  Also, AutoTrac turn automation can now prevent speed changes when entering and exiting headlands, ensuring a smooth operation throughout the paddock.

The TECSight, PA and TFS team are very keen for what 2025 has in store and look forward to continuing helping more customers stay up and running and optimise their farm!
