Oberon Ag Show 2024
The Oberon Annual Agricultural Show was held on Saturday, 10 February 2024 and is a hallmark event celebrating the rich agricultural heritage and community spirit of the region. Hutcheon & Pearce Orange were thrilled to be part of this local ag show, demonstrating our unwavering support for the region and its vibrant community.
Our team from the Orange branch was excited to set up a John Deere display at the show, showcasing the latest in John Deere lawn mowers and machinery, service offerings, and sharing information about our technical support from TECSight. The display served as a hub for attendees of the show to chat to the team about the newest John Deere releases and to engage with our knowledgeable staff. Avin Jansen, a key member of our team, remarked, “Local shows are the heart of regions, and it is so important to turn out to support them.” This sentiment underscores our commitment to being an active part of the communities we serve across our 21 branches.

A Brief History of Oberon
The area around Oberon, initially known as Bullock Flat, has a storied history dating back to the early 19th century. Following the construction of Cox’s Road in 1813, settlers were drawn to the region’s fertile lands. Notable early settlers like Charles Whalan, who is credited with discovering the Jenolan Caves, and Philip Parker King played pivotal roles in the area’s development. Oberon’s rich mineral resources, including gold, copper, and gemstones, attracted prospectors and contributed to the area’s growth. Officially proclaimed a village in 1863, Oberon boasts a rich heritage that continues to attract visitors and residents alike.
