Introduction of a new John Deere golf fleet, a significant move orchestrated by Hutcheon & Pearce
The Royal Military College (RMC) in Duntroon, a landmark in Canberra, not only trains cadets for the Australian Army but also harbors a hidden treasure — a historically rich public golf course. Just a stone’s throw from the CBD, this golf course, with its deep historical roots, owes much of its pristine condition to the meticulous servicing and equipment provided by Hutcheon & Pearce
RMC Golf Club’s new John Deere fleet includes:
– 2750 E-Cut™ Hybrid Triplex Mower
-HD200 SelectSpray™ Sprayer, 1200
– Hydro Bunker Rake, 2700A PrecisionCut™ Triplex Mower
– 7500A E-Cut Hybrid Fairway Mower
– 1570 TerrainCut™ Front Mower and scarifier unit.
The game-changing moment for the RMC Golf Club came with the introduction of a new John Deere fleet, a significant move orchestrated by Hutcheon & Pearce. Stephen Foster, representing Hutcheon & Pearce, was instrumental in this strategic shift. Initially considering only two machines, the club, under Nakkan’s guidance, realized the benefits of a comprehensive update to John Deere machinery, signifying Hutcheon & Pearce’s critical role in this decision.
Tracing back to World War One, the golfing history at RMC Duntroon reveals a transformation from a modest nine-hole course to the current sophisticated golfing venue. This evolution is vividly captured in “Hidden Gem: The Story of the Royal Military Golf Club”, which narrates the course’s deceptive challenges and its beautifully manicured greens.
The pivotal figure behind maintaining the club’s high standards is Luke Nakkan, the Superintendent. He articulates his experience, “Describing RMC Golf Club as a hidden gem is very fitting.” For Nakkan, working at the club, with its blend of traditional and country vibes, is a refreshing journey, made smoother by the invaluable assistance from Hutcheon & Pearce’s John Deere servicing.
“The full fleet conversion, advised and facilitated by Hutcheon & Pearce, was a clear choice for us.” This transition not only brought state-of-the-art equipment to the golf course but also ensured significant savings and operational efficiency, a testament to Hutcheon & Pearce’s expertise in John Deere servicing.
The extensive fleet, including models like the 2750 E-Cut™ Hybrid Triplex Mower and the 7500A E-Cut Hybrid Fairway Mower, is a part of the broader service agreement between RMC Duntroon and Hutcheon & Pearce. This agreement goes beyond mere supply; it encompasses comprehensive servicing, maintenance, and logistical support, underscoring Hutcheon & Pearce’s indispensable role in the upkeep of the golf course.
"With Hutcheon & Pearce's support, we're not just maintaining the course; we're elevating it to new heights."
The collaboration epitomises a blend of tradition and machinery modernisation, ensuring the RMC Golf Club’s legacy continues with excellence. Hutcheon & Pearce are proud to be part of the future of the golf course.
