Size Meets Smarts: Discover John Deere’s Largest Tractor Yet, the 2025 9RX Series & the all new S7 Combines
In a move that marks a significant milestone in its 187-year history, John Deere has once again risen to new heights of innovation with an expansive product launch at this year’s Commodity Classic tradeshow in Houston, Texas. The unveiling of the Model Year 2025 lineup introduces cutting-edge machinery that promises to redefine industry standards for power, productivity, and precision. But everyone is talking about the John Deere New 9RX and for good reason. Sales & Marketing Manager Andrew Watt couldn’t be more thrilled.
“How exciting is this for our customers! The new high horsepower 9RX models now provide a solution for growers across all terrain types to go bigger and wider to cover more hectares in less time more efficiently.”
Andrew Watt, Sales & Marketing Manager, Hutcheon and Pearce
Three new models of the autonomy-ready 9RX series tractors were unveiled, boasting an industry-leading 830 horsepower model that merges brute strength with smart technology. The new tractor lineup includes three new high-horsepower four-track models: the 9RX 710, the 9RX 770 and the 9RX 830.
Built from the ground up to handle high horsepower
With an impressive 830 horsepower, the new model allows for seeding with double the cart capacity even on inclines, and increases your speed by 1 mph (1.6 km/h). Achieve optimal tilling speeds, covering an additional 100 acres (40.6 hectares) daily, and utilise broader implements to reduce ripper passes by 1,000 annually. The high-horsepower 9RX Tractors offer enhanced visibility and a quieter operation, coupled with precision agriculture technology, enabling confident, high-speed performance.*
*(Comparing a 9RX 640 with a N560F and a C850 cart filled half way vs a 9RX 830 with a N560F and a C850T cart filled all the way up both maxed out on power and ran in Auto Mode. The hills ranged from 8 degrees to 12 degrees in slope. Claim based on internal field test data comparing a 40′ 2680H at 11.9mph on a 9RX 640 to a 45′ 2680H at 13.4 mph on a 9RX 830 both at max power for 8 hours a day at 4″ deep in corn stalks. Calculation assumes going from a 11 shank 2730 to a 13 shank 2730 over 4500 acres with 1 machine. Based on internal testing.)
Andrew reflects on how the 9RX applies to the Australian market. “We see customers’ requirements changing towards 60 and 80ft seeders in hilly terrain as their farming operations continue to grow. More country and tighter seeding windows means that ground prep and sowing needs to be as fast and efficient like never before and we see the new 9RX higher horsepower models meeting that challenge. Add in the new technology, CommandView 4 Plus Cab, hydraulic flows and diesel single fluid efficiency only seen before in construction equipment, these monsters are sure to impress. Hutcheon & Pearce are lucky enough to be one of the first on the list to get one of these in the flesh towards the end of 2024, so be sure to book in a demo.”
The technology package accompanying the new 9RX series is futuristic but the future is here. The tractor boasts the G5 plus CommandCenter™ Display and the Integrated StarFire™ 7500 receiver. There is also the optional G5 Advanced technology package, featuring SF-RTK to unlock unparalleled accuracy and efficiency. The synergy between AutoTrac Turn Automation, AutoTrac Implement Guidance, AutoPath planning, and the connectivity afforded by the John Deere Operations Center and JDLink, creates a cohesive, highly efficient technological ecosystem. This integration ensures that critical field and machine data are always accessible, enabling informed decision-making and optimised productivity.
But wait, there is more! Introducing the all new S7 Combines
The S7 Series combines feature new fuel-efficient engines, cutting edge automation features, improved grain loss sensing and an enhanced residue management systems. Equipped with the same luxurious cab found on the iconic X9, the S Series combines are comfortable, advanced and very capable.
“For MY25, the S7 Series Combines will receive a significant facelift with new styling, new engines, new automation technology and reside management options. The model lineup features a new name and numbering scheme in line with the X Series. The S7 is the family with 600, 700, 800 and 900 models representing their capacities.”
Though it’s still early and we haven’t had a chance to demo a model yet, we caught up with Watty to hear about his favourite feature on the new S7
“By far, my favourite new feature is the Predictive Ground Speed Automation. S7’s will now be able to use two forward facing cameras and field yield predictive maps to visually assess changing crop conditions to proactively manage ground speed and maximise productivity like never before. Add to this the 10% fuel saving compared to previous models and our customers will see more money in their pocket with reduced operator fatigue.”
The C-Series air carts round out the new 2025 offerings, designed to enhance seeding-time productivity, quality, and accuracy.
In an era where technology and agriculture intersect, John Deere’s factory installation of the AI-enabled See & Spray™ Premium weed sensing technology on the Hagie STS sprayers represents another essential now factory installed.
Hutcheon & Pearce is privileged to be among the early recipients of these machines, expected to arrive in late 2024. Be sure to schedule your demo and witness innovation at its finest.
